Dr. Ernest Rex Tan, Founder and Director of Smile Inc.® Dental Surgeons, embarked on his dental career after graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1991, and the renowned postgraduate Masters program in Restorative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute (U.C.L.) in London, U.K. in 1994. The specialist training provided in Dr. Tan a firm foundation in managing the many complex reconstructive and cosmetic challenges that his patients present.

Dr. Ernest Rex Tan, has been a Specialist in Prosthodontics and key cosmetic dental surgeon in Singapore and the region these past 21 years. He started Smile Inc.® Dental Surgeons, a household name, and is the first dental surgeon in Singapore to perform (and popularize) the revolutionary Britesmile Laser Teeth Whitening procedure in Singapore and Asia since 1997. Dr. Ernest Rex Tan is also an authority in the field of cosmetic dental work, having worked extensively on his popular hallmark procedure, the Smile Inc.® Makeover. which comprise Dr. Tan’s trademark procedures on InstantBraces and Smile Lifts. These have been widely covered in publications and the media, both past and present.

His Prosthodontic expertise and focus on Reconstructive and Cosmetic Dentistry has built a successful practice in Full Mouth Reconstruction, Dental Implantology, Teeth Whitening, Smile Makeovers and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Tan’s success in his field is the result of years of experience and expertise gained from transforming and beautifying thousands of smiles and managing many complex aesthetic cases.


Dr Tan has been a long standing member of the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore (A.D.S.S.), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (A.A.C.D.) and the College of General Dental Practitioners (C.G.D.P.)

Dr. Nancy Wong


Dr. Nancy Wong, a graduate of the National University of Singapore, received her Bachelor Degree in Dental Surgery in 1991. She has been with Smile Inc.® Dental Surgeons since its inception in 1997. Having been in practice for 26 years, she has special interests in treating children, patients with root canal problems and elderly patients needing dentures.

Dr. Wong finds it exceptionally fulfilling to build rapport with her young patients, and derives great satisfaction in assisting these children in eliminating their dental fears. Her patience and passion for her work has helped many apprehensive patients of any age overcome their fear of dentists. In areas of root canal procedures, Dr. Wong finds fulfilment in eliminating dental pain arising from root canal problems and has established tremendous trust with her patients.

Dr. Alvin Yeo

Dr. Alvin Yeo has since 2010 been a Consultant Periodontist (with special interest in Esthetic Periodontics and Implant Dentistry) at Smile Inc.® Dental Surgeons. He also assumes the positions of a Visiting Consultant and a Visiting Clinician Researcher in the Restorative Department (Periodontics Unit) at the National Dental Centre, Singapore (N.D.C.S.)

He graduated from Periodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, U.S.A., in 2003 with a Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Oral Biology. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1997. He was conferred Fellow in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, (F.A.M.S.) in 2007. Recently, he was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, after successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis in March 2010 entitled “Novel Polycaprolactone-Tricalcium Phosphate (PCL-TCP) Scaffolds Customized for Reconstruction of Dentoalveolar Deformities.”

Dr. Yeo has been extremely active and is part of the recently established ITI S.E.A. Section Leadership Team formed in 2011. He currently assumes the role of Chairperson the ITI South East Asia (S.E.A.) Section and was the ITI S.E.A. Section Education Delegate from 2011-2015. Dr. Yeo teaches part-time and is part of the teaching faculty of the NUS Periodontology Residency Training Programme at N.D.C.S. In addition, he is currently a member of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board (D.S.A.B.) in Periodontics. He lectures and conducts workshops actively both locally and internationally, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Nepal, China, Australia and the United States, on topics of related to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Wansanatha Bulugahapitiya


Dr. Wansanatha Bulugahapitiya “Nath”, is a senior dental surgeon with 28 years of clinical experience. Dr. Nath qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1989, following which he worked in the teaching hospital at Sheffield, gaining vast experience particularly in the fields of surgical and restorative dentistry as Sheffield was the pioneering centre for dental implantology in the United Kingdom.

Following this, he went into general practice in Cambridge for the next two and half years, where he gained extensive experience in comprehensive dentistry. Dr. Nath then had a sabbatical for 18 months at the Dept of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine, University of Melbourne Dental School, (Australia), further improving his skills in oral surgery and oral medicine.

Dr. Nath returned to the U.K., into general practice for the next 11 years between Oxford and Nottingham where he practiced and gained experience in surgical, restorative and aesthetic dentistry. From 2005 to date, he has been in Singapore, where he has built up a thriving multi disciplinary, interactive, patient focused practice.

Dr. Nath believes in continual professional development as modern dentistry is a constantly evolving profession. His main area of interest and clinical expertise lies in conservative restorative dentistry (eg. crown & bridgework, full mouth rehabilitations), prosthodontic implantology and aesthetic dentistry. His clinical experience has enabled him to gain experience and skills in managing apprehensive and nervous patients. Dr. Nath practices multidisciplinary, interactive dentistry for the benefit of his patients and to achieve his own high clinical standards.

Dr. Divya Bhargava


Dr. Divya is a U.S. trained and educated General Dentist with over 17 years of work experience in the U.S. (Boston and New York City) and Singapore. She studied at the Boston University Henry Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she received my Doctor of Dental Medicine and C.A.G.S. (Certificate Of Advanced Graduate Studies) in A.E.G.D.

Dr. Divya is well versed in all aspects of clinical dentistry with an emphasis on restorative and cosmetic dentistry. She has extensive experience with Full Mouth Reconstructions, Smile Makeovers, Implant Restorations, Invisalign and Endodontics. She is trained to manage and treat Occlusal Disease and Sleep Apnoea and use dental lasers. Apart from her strong clinical skills, she takes pride in her chair side manners, demeanour and patient management.

Dentistry is a very dynamic field of medicine, with new materials and techniques being introduced on a regular basis. Dr. Divya constantly updates her knowledge through conferences, lecture series and online courses. Some of her prestigious affiliations include American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (A.A.C.D.), Academy of General Dentistry (A.G.D.), Aesthetic Dentistry Society Singapore (A.D.S.S.) and Alum Of the Pankey Institute.

Dr. Leroy McCully


M.Sc. Endodontics (LONDON, U.K.)

Dr. Leroy McCully graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1994 with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery. He then spent two years working for the Singapore Government in the Singapore General Hospital and Republic of Singapore Air Force.

In 1997, Dr. McCully obtained his postgraduate degree in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) from the Eastman Dental Institute, University of London.

While he was there, he was awarded the prestigious British Endodontic Society Research Grant for his study on root canal microbiology. The title of the thesis was “The use of molecular techniques to chart the spread of bacteria from carious lesions”. It was also presented as a poster in the 1997 European Society of Endodontics meeting in Gothenburg.

He is a member of the Singapore Dental Association and the Society of Endodontists, Singapore.

He is experienced in the management of apprehensive patients.

Dr. McCully is recognised as a Dental Specialist in Endodontics by the Singapore Dental Council and he currently lectures both locally and internationally. He is a part-time Tutor on the Endodontics Program at the National University of Singapore.

Dr. Lim Siow Hooi


M.D.S. (Endodontics) (SINGAPORE)


Dr. Lim Siow Hooi graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She achieved 4 commendations in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Part 1 examinations and her interest in Endodontics led her to pursue a postgraduate training in Endodontics from 2006-2009.

She obtained her Masters of Dental Surgery (Endodontics) from the National University of Singapore in 2009. In the same year, she was conferred a Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009.

Her outstanding achievements in her postgraduate training led her to be awarded the Society of Endodontists, Singapore (S.E.S.) Gold Medal upon graduation. This is the first time the society has ever conferred this title to a deserving candidate.

She is a member of the Singapore Dental Association (S.D.A.) as well as the Society of Endodontists, Singapore (SES). Dr. Lim’s clinical interests lie in the management of non-vital and traumatized immature teeth. She is versatile with patients of all age groups and bonds easily with young children.

Outside of the office, Dr. Lim enjoys spending family time, nurturing her young children. She is passionate about food and loves travelling when time permits.

Dr Maria Raskina


Dr. Raskina trained in the United States and grew up in New York City. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Biology and later attended New York University’s College of Dentistry, earning a doctorate of dental surgery. After graduation, she completed a post-doctoral residency at Mount Sinai-Roosevelt Hospital in New York.

Dr. Raskina is focused on providing the highest level of care to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a special interest in restorative and cosmetic treatment. Her primary goal is to help patients through education and prevention while alleviating anxiety.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband, taking advantage of the travel opportunities Singapore offers and eating delicious local food. Maria is fluent in Russian and speaks Spanish. She feels most successful when helping patients improve their overall health and well-being.
